A Jefferson County man has been sentenced for child exploitation.

28 year old Cody Rector of Mt. Vernon was sentenced to a combined 75 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Rector’s convictions were 40 years for predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, 20 years for dissemination of child pornography, and 15 years for child pornography – taking photo of a child under 15 years of age.

The sentence is a result of an investigation initiated in April of 2020 by the Sheriff’s Office Detective Division.
