Four arrested in Jefferson County drug raid

BLUFORD, Ill. (WJPF) – Fentanyl and methamphetamine have been taken off the streets of Jefferson County.

Early Tuesday morning, police in tactical gear raided a house in Bluford and arrested four people – two men and two women – on drug charges.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says Rose McCormick, 39, was the primary target of the raid. Authorities say earlier this year, McCormick sold fentanyl and meth to an undercover deputy. She now faces charges including aggravated delivery of controlled substance, aggravated possession with the intent to deliver, and possession of drug equipment

Others arrested Tuesday  were 41-year-old Robert Newbury, 69-year-old Cynthia Bruce, and 44-year-old Jon Hartman.

Police also recovered property believed to have been stolen from a recent burglary. Additional theft charges against McCormick, Newbury, Bruce, and Hartman are pending.
