Chicago officer shot on city’s north side; suspect arrested

CHICAGO (AP) — Authorities say a Chicago police officer suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening after he was shot Monday afternoon.

Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford says the officer was shot in the Lincoln Park neighborhood on the city’s north side around 3:30 p.m. Paramedics transported a male officer, about 60 years old, to the hospital.

Police say a suspect is in custody and a gun has been recovered at the scene.
