WILLIAMSON, COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) — Five people were hurt in a two vehicle crash Tuesday in Williamson County.
It happened at about 7:40 a.m. at the intersection of Illinois Route 13 and Paulton Road.
Illinois State Police say that a 17-year-old was behind the wheel of a 1972 Chevrolet truck traveling south on Paulton Road. The teenaged driver failed to stop at a yield sign and pulled out in front of a 2014 Jeep SUV.
The 17-year-old driver of the Chevrolet, as well as three teenaged passengers, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver was cited for Failure to Yield at a Yield Intersection.
The driver of the Jeep, 34-year-old Erika Kirkpatrick of Marion, was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
