Prosecutors to seek death penalty in Fort Campbell murder

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (WJPF) — Federal prosecutors say they intend to seek the death penalty in the case of a Fort Campbell soldier murdered on the military base in 2018.

Specialist Brittney Silvers was shot to death by her husband, Victor Silvers, inside their home located on the base. Brittney’s family has said that she was in an abusive relationship.

Victor Silvers is charged with premeditated first degree murder, domestic violence, violation of a protection order, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and two counts of the using of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.
