CHESTER, Ill. (WJPF) — Chester is the latest southern Illinois town to allow the legal sale of recreational marijuana.

The city council narrowly approved the measure Wednesday night. The vote was split 4-to-4. Mayor Tom Page cast the tie-breaking vote to allow a cannabis dispensary the option to operate in Chester.
