Three new cases of COVID-19 reported in southern Illinois Saturday

(WJPF) — Three new cases of COVID-19 were reported in southern Illinois Saturday.

One case was reported in Gallatin County. A woman in her 60s is said to be recovering at home in isolation. Public health officials there have not disclosed how the woman may have come into contact with the virus. This is the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Gallatin County.

One case was reported in Williamson County. A woman in her 30s is said to be recovering at home in isolation. It’s believed the woman came into contact with the virus through community spread. This is the fourth confirmed case of COVID-19 in Williamson County.

One case was reported in Jefferson County. A woman in her 20s is said to be recovering at home in isolation. Public health officials there have not disclosed how the woman may have come into contact with the virus. This is the second confirmed case of COVID-19 in Jefferson County

1,453 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Illinois Saturday, bringing the statewide total to 10,357 cases, including 243 deaths. The virus has been found in 68 counties.
