MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (WJPF) — A teachers strike is looking to be unavoidable in Murphysboro.

Murphysboro teachers have rejected the latest offer from the Board of Education.

With both sides at an impasse, the Murphysboro Teachers Union have set an October 3rd strike date.

All classes, athletic events and practices, as well as any school-sponsored activities and events would be canceled until the teachers strike is over.
