PERRY COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) — One woman is dead, her husband seriously injured after a head-on crash involving a motorcycle.

It happened around 4:00 PM Saturday on Route 127 in Perry County.

State Police say that Joe and Therese Baird were on their motorcycle heading south when they were hit head-on by Isaac Gurley, who was in the wrong lane, passing another vehicle in a no passing zone.

Both Joe and Therese Baird were thrown from the bike.

Therese Baird was pronounced dead at the scene. Joe Baird was flown to an out of state hospital.

Isaac Gurley was not hurt.
