Carterville man sentenced for drug charge

MARION, IL. (WJPF) – A Carterville man has been sentenced to four years in the Department of Correction on a drug charge.

28-year-old Brenden Buzick pleaded guilty Monday to participation of meth manufacturing.

According to prosecutors, Buzick’s arrest and subsequent conviction came after July 20, 2016 incident in which the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a hostage situation in Carterville.

After arriving at the scene, police found meth making material.

Buzick has prior felony meth convictions out Montgomery and Macupin Counties.
