More details released on officer involved shooting

MARION, IL. (WJPF) – More information has been released on an officer involved shooting that happened Friday night in Marion.

According to Marion Police, it all started after officers attempted to pullover 28-year-old Ethan Adams of Sikeston, Missouri on suspicion of DUI.

Adams led police on a chase, rammed a squad car, and hit a Marion officer with his vehicle. The officer that was hit fired on Adams, hitting him at least once.

Adams fled again, crashing his vehicle a short time later. He was taken into custody and later flown to a regional hospital. The officer was treated for injuries sustained. Both are expected to recover.

The Illinois State Police continues to investigate.
