The Jackson County Coroner’s office has identified the man struck and killed by an Amtrak train Friday north of Carbondale.

Authorities say 20-year-old Ethan Stein of Willowbrook, Ill., was killed early Friday morning after he was struck by the train about a half-mile north of the intersection of Airport Road and U.S. Highway 51.
