JACKSON COUNTY, IL. (WJPF) – One person was killed after being kit by a train in Jackson County.

The accident happened around 1:20 AM Friday about 1/2 mile north of the intersection of US Highway 51 and Airport Road.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.
