Jose Pina Hernandez, 29, of Carbondale, has pleaded guilty to a charge of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. He was sentenced Friday to serve 34 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

In July 2017, Hernandez sexually assaulted a child under the age of 13, according to Jackson County State’s Attorney Michael Carr.
