Two injured in Union County wreck

Traffic is moving again after a serious two vehicle crash on interstate 57 in Union County.

It happened Wednesday on the northbound route 146 on ramp and shut down that part of the interstate for roughly five hours.

According to State Police, Derek Adams, of Houston, Texas, was driving a tractor trailer. Investigators say that Adams exited I-57 northbound, but failed to stop at the stop sign at the bottom of the off ramp.

Adams entered Route 146, into the path of a compact car, being driven by Gylian Moore, of Alto Pass.

Unable to stop in time, Moore hit the tractor trailer, and became wedged underneath trailer and then dragged through the intersection and onto the northbound on ramp.

Moore and a juvenile passenger were flown to out-of-state hospitals with serious injuries.
