Authorities have been continuing to search for two men who they say escaped from a southeastern Illinois county jail over the weekend with a third man who’s been captured.

The White County sheriff’s office says men matching the descriptions of 24-year-old Zachery Shock and 61-year-old Johnny Tipton were spotted Sunday night on Illinois 1 between the rural communities of Norris City and Omaha. Officers using a drone and search dogs were not able to find them.

Shock was awaiting trial for murder, while Tipton faced possession of stolen property charges.

The sheriff’s office says Shock, Tipton and 28-year-old Justin Bray used a pipe to break through an outside wall early Saturday of the jail in Carmi near the Indiana border. Bray was caught Saturday in an oil field tank.
