Three arrested in Colp domestic disturbance

Three people have been arrested in Colp in connection to a domestic disturbance in that that ended with gunshots being fired.

In a news release, authorities say they a call into 9-1-1 just before 10:00 AM Wednesday reporting a domestic disturbance that possibly involved a weapon. Minutes later, the department received more information that shots had been fired.

Arriving at the scene, sheriff’s deputies as well as officers from the Carterville and Crainville Police Departments learned that no one had been injured by the gunshots. One person was however suffering from injuries from a physical fight. They declined medical treatment.

Police arrested one person on the charges of Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Violation of an Order of Protection. Two others were arrested on charges of Simple Battery.

Police are not releasing those people’s identities until after their first court appearance.
