Congratulations to our Valentine's contest winners!

Lite Rock Magic 95.1 has been asking our listeners to send in a sappy letter explaining why their sweetie deserves the "Most Magical Valentine's Day Ever" and we have our winner!  Congratulations Tony Ross of Cobden!

This is the letter we recieved from Tony:

My name is Tony Ross. I live in Cobden these days. We have met, but I don't think you have had the honor and pleasure of meeting my true love, Tina Adkerson.
Tina is a woman of boundless spirit and a joie de vivre that I would say is unmatched by any that I can recall. Awake at 6 am to start her day, she works at a day training facility in Anna as a Case Coordinator/QMRP. After earning her degree in the 90's she wanted to do something to help those who don't have much of a voice, the developmentally disabled. It is a career filled with paperwork, advocacy and tedium. It also can be a physically demanding position (as I have observed the bruises, bite marks and scratches that she often brings home).
Tina is also a very determined individual. Look at our relationship, and you can see what I mean. You see, I am 55 years old, twice widowed, and since my last wife went to heaven, have been a very scared man. For the last ten years of my life (Yes, I did say ten years), I have leaned on Tina as a friend, confidant and my sweetheart. She showed her loyalty to me through all that time, good and bad. Pat, I too have an addictive personality and she stood by me, with her tough love, to aide me through those days.  Determined, tenacious, persevering; that is my love my Tina. But, she comes by it naturally.
You see, Tina has cerebral palsy. Critically injured, within a month of her birth, in an auto accident which temporarily cut off oxygen to her brain, she was blessed with this affliction. I say "blessed" because it seems to be the way she looks at it. Dealing with the ignorance that labeled her, she fought on to garner her degree and use it to "help those less fortunate than she". And painfully, day after day, she persists in her commitment.

What a woman.  And what a lucky man I am. Even though we get to see each other very rarely (I work evenings), I still feel like a schoolboy, as she has recently accepted my long-awaited proposal. We will be married on February 27th.  Pat, I thank you for this forum. I pray that you will honor this most honorable woman with the gifts from this contest But, if not, I hope she will hear this and know how much she is loved. how much she is admired. how blessed I am to know her.

Magic 95.1 presented both Tony and Tina with their Valentine's Day gifts;  an hour-long couple's massage from Alternative Health Care in Marion, a "Journey" diamond pendant (pictured above) from TJ's Fine Jewelry in Carbondale, a $50 gift certificate to the Giant City Lodge, and a dozen roses from The Flower Box in Carbondale.  Now that's a great way to say "I Love You!"

Thanks to everyone who helped make this Valentine's Day magical, with Magic 95.1!
